Frequently Asked Questions
Can you help me find a contractor for my project?
Yes. Click Request a Quote in the top menu, tell us your state and what you need, and we'll connect you with a licensed underground storage tank (UST) contractor. Whether you need tank removal, oil tank removal, fuel tank inspection, testing, or compliance work — it's free for facility owners, property managers, and environmental consultants. If your project is urgent, such as a leaking tank or active contamination, mention it and we'll connect you with an available contractor immediately.
How do quote requests work?
All quote requests are reviewed before being forwarded to ensure quality leads. This protects contractors from spam and unqualified inquiries. Upgraded listings receive priority routing for tank removal, oil tank removal, fuel tank inspection, and other UST service requests.
How often is the directory updated?
We add new contractors and update existing listings every week. If you notice outdated information on any listing, email us at info@ustcontractors.com and we'll update it within 24 hours.
Who uses this directory?
Facility owners, property managers, environmental consultants, and EHS managers use our directory to find licensed contractors for tank removal, oil tank removal, underground storage tank (UST) installation, fuel tank inspection, tank tightness testing, cathodic protection, site assessment, decommissioning, and compliance work.
What do I get if I upgrade?

Premium members get everything in Basic plus a company logo, placement at the top of your state's results. How do I upgrade my listing?
Visit our Claim Your Listing page or email us at info@ustcontractors.com. We'll get you set up in 24 hours.
How is this different from Angi or Google?
We focus exclusively on tank work. Every listing is specific to underground storage tank (UST) and aboveground storage tank (AST) work — tank removal, oil tank removal, fuel tank inspection, installation, testing, decommissioning, and closure. No plumbers, no HVAC companies, no random handymen.
I don't see my company listed. How do I get added?
If your company performs tank removal, inspection, or UST services and you don't see your listing, email us at info@ustcontractors.com with your company name and state. We'll review and add you within 48 hours.
What's the difference between licensed and certified?
It depends on your state. Some states issue UST contractor licenses, others issue certifications. Both require meeting state-mandated standards for underground storage tank work. In states without UST-specific licensing, we list contractors who actively perform tank work.
